The volume “Study Abroad in Italy 2021” aims to become a cognitive tool of the existing, but it also intends to push into the future, thus recalling the need for teamwork on the part of all the players involved.

As a country system, Italy has all the credentials to become one of the most attractive countries in the world for international students whose growth in the Italian public and private university system would have positive short-term effects (in economic terms and job creation) and long-term positive effects in terms of soft power, institutional relations, economic partnerships, and cultural exchanges.
Those who spend a period of study in Italy are more likely to become consumers of Made in Italy products, consume Italian culture, often spend their holidays in Italy, and are more likely to create partnerships with Italian entrepreneurs.
The discussion offered in our book aims to lead the reader from an international or global view of the Study Abroad phenomenon, to a national dimension (the Italian one), and finally a local one (Tuscany and Florence).
