Studying in a foreign country can overwhelming and difficult to navigate. With so little time how can you fit in as much as possible? As I prepare to end my semester abroad I’ve reflected on the trips I got the most out of, many of which I was not expecting to become my favorite. Read this article to hear about my favorite cities in Europe and what I did to get the most out of my experience!
5. Nice, France
I didn’t have many expectations walking into Nice but this trip ended up being one of the best experiences I had in Europe. The aesthetic of this town is beautiful I suggest hitting up the market and having a picnic on the beach to take it all in. I also would recommend the Marche Aux Fleurs Cours Saleya and had the most delicious and fresh fruit I have ever tasted.

4. Mallorca, Spain
If you’re looking for a more remote and beachy experience Mallorca is the place to go. My roommates and I chose to go to Mallorca for spring break and it was one of the best decisions we made. Getting to have a longer stay here was super relaxing and we got to experience so many aspects of the island. I would suggest renting a car for this trip it allowed us to see all the beautiful beaches on the island and take in the breathtaking views on our drives.

3. Mykonos, Greece
Mykonos is truly heaven on earth. I’m gonna be honest, towards the end of abroad you’ll probably feel absolutely exhausted and what better way to relax than on the beautiful beaches in Mykonos. This was my favorite place for shopping for cute jewelry and finding gifts for family and friends. Also, the most beautiful sunset out of any city I visited.

2. Interlaken, Switzerland
If you’re looking for an adventurous trip Interlaken offers a plethora of activities for study abroad students. From skydiving to snow-tubing to skiing there is something for everyone to enjoy in this city. I chose to do the two-day ski pass which gave me plenty of time to take in the insane views on top of the Swiss Alps. This trip was so unique and definitely stood out the most looking back on my semester.

- Florence, Italy
It would be very remiss of me to not put Florence #1 on this list. Getting the opportunity to live in Florence for the past four months has been a breathtaking experience. After every weekend of traveling, I was always missing Florence by the end of it and ready to get back to my home away from home. Walking the streets makes you feel as if you’re walking through a different time period. This city is truly unlike any other from the culture, history, authenticity, and of course the food, Florence is my favorite place on earth.
